China's oil and gas well (octg) pipe development process
China's oil and gas well pipe production has a history of more than 60 years. Since the establishment of the new China, the first seamless oil pipe was produced by Angang in 1954, the development of China's oil well pipe can be divided into four stages. See below of details of octg pipe development. ANSON AGICO
The first stage was 1954 -- 1985
Angang, Baotou Steel and Chengdu Seamless Steel Tube Plant successively produced oil well pipes. At the beginning of production, Angang's tubing products were delivered in accordance with the Saddle Standard and the Metallurgical Standard (equivalent to the original Soviet standard). In the 1970s, the former Ministry of Metallurgy formulated and promulgated the YB690-1970 and the “Petroleum Butt Welding Drill Pipe, Drill Collar, and Drill Pipe” standard YB691-1970. Chengdu Seamless Steel Tube Plant and Baotou Steel produce casing and butt welding drill pipes according to the above standards (the steel is only producing casings). In the 1980s, Angang, Baotou Steel and Chengdu Seamless Steel Tube Plants began trial production and mass production of oil casing and tubing in accordance with API standards. At this stage, the oil well pipe products developed by the above three plants for Daqing, Shengli, Dagang and Sichuan oilfields are mainly low-grade steel products such as DZ40, DZ50 and DZ55 (carbon-manganese steel, steel in Baotou Steel). Although it is the low-end product of the oil well pipe, due to the low level of smelting, rolling, heat treatment and pipe processing equipment at that time, the surface quality, dimensional accuracy and thread processing quality of the product are difficult to meet the oilfield requirements.
The second stage is 1986 - 1991
The Φ140mm fully floating mandrel mill imported from Baosteel has been put into operation (can produce tubing and 5 1/2 inch casing), which has made breakthroughs in the equipment level of domestic oil well pipe production, but due to the specifications of the unit. Due to limitations, only a small number of specifications and varieties can be provided for the oil field. Since January 1986, the former Ministry of Metallurgy officially announced the abolition of YB690-1970 and YB691-1970 standards, and will use YB/T and GB3303- equivalent to the API standard. The 1982 series standard production of oil well pipes. In April 1990, Chengdu Seamless Steel Tube Plant was the first in China to pass the API 5CT 5B, 5D, and API 5L (7) monogram license issued by the American Petroleum Institute. However, due to the overall level of domestic steel pipe enterprises It is not able to meet the needs of the rapid development of the oil and gas industry. By 1991, China's oil well pipe production was only 136,700 tons, and the localization rate was only 13.54%. The products mainly used J55 steel grade oil casingsand tubings made of carbon-manganese steel, N80 steel. The grades of oil casing is still in the development stage.
The third stage 1992-2012
As China's economy enters the fast lane of rapid development, the increasing demand for oil has promoted the rapid development of the petroleum industry, and at the same time has driven the rapid growth of demand for energy pipelines such as oil well pipes. In addition, the completion and commissioning of the Φ250MPM unit imported from Tianjin (the predecessor of Tianguan Group) (the modernized full-process specialized oil well pipe production enterprise) has changed the backward situation of China's oil well pipe production equipment and technology. After that, three PQF three-roll high-precision continuous rolling mill units were built. This type of machine represents the top level of seamless steel rolling technology in the world today. During this period, some domestic enterprises (including Baosteel, Chengdu Seamless, Hengyang Steel Pipe, Baotou Steel, Simles, Anhui Tianda, etc.) have successively invested in a number of modern rolling mills and rebuilt or built new heat treatment lines and pipe processing lines. The overall manufacturing level of China's oil well pipes has been greatly improved, and the production of oil well pipes has grown rapidly.
At this stage, China's octg pipes have basically met the demand for domestic oilfield pipes in terms of output, quality and variety, and have also exported them to foreign countries. In 2004, China's oil well pipe imports amounted to 322,000 tons, and the export volume was 332,300 tons, achieving net export of oil well pipes. In 2008, China's oil well pipe production reached 6.3 million tons, exports were 3.33 million tons, imports were 245,700 tons, net imports were 3.08 million tons, and the localization rate reached 95.5%.
Fourth stage 2013 and beyond
As China's economy enters the mid-high-speed development, the rapid development of non-petrochemical energy and the development of China's oil and gas industry show a downward trend (the apparent consumption of oil and gas pipes has reached its peak), among which oil exploitation shows a downward trend (oil resources are exhausted), The demand for petroleum pipes is declining. In the future, the development of China's oil and gas industry is to develop resources such as shale gas, coalbed methane, and marine oil and gas (including combustible ice).
